Responsibilities:
The Supervisor of Tax & Compliance is responsible for day-to-day tax compliance functions, and general insurance administration. This person is responsible for the application of current tax and insurance laws and regulations, and advises management of necessary actions.
Oversees and reviews the preparation of tax returns, reconciliation and filings
Resolves and responds to federal, state and local tax audits and related issues
Provides taxable income forecasts to Senior Management, as needed
Assists in managing the retention of tax records, tax returns, and other documents
Manages various tax research projects as determined by business needs
Oversees the maintenance of Corporate Licenses and Registration Filings
Responsible for preparing the schedule of fixed assets and tax allocation statements
Responsible for reconciliation of general insurance, workmens compensation and 401K Plan schedules for year-end audit
Responds to ad hoc requests of taxable income estimates or other tax information, both internally and externally
Requirements:
4 year College Degree in Accounting
3-5 years experience in Accounting, 1-2 years of supervisory experience
Ability to handle difficult, clients, employees and situations
Ability to communicate with clients
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word/Excel, Spreadsheet and Presentation Software
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
Ability to understand visual processes, interpret data and translate into written word
Advanced ability to ensure that quality and production standards are met
Advanced ability to motivate, coach, train staff
Advanced customer service skills, and professional attitude
Advanced organizational, administrative, record keeping and time management skills
Creative thinking and performance
Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
