Responsibilities:
Develop test plans and assessment methods.
Execute application and network layer penetration tests on internal and external networks and applications.
Create and present detailed and professional assessment reports based on results of penetration tests.
Risk treatment by selecting and implementing measures to control and mitigate risks including activities to avoid risks, transfer risks and finance risks.
Maintains currency of expertise in security-related technologies, trends, issues, and solutions.
Maintains a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art information technology, equipment, and systems.
Requirements:
EDUCATION
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Computer Science, Information Assurance, etc)
Preferred: Security Certification (CISSP, SSCP, CISA, CISM, etc)
EXPERIENCE
3 to 5 years ethical hacking/penetration testing experience.
Previous experience in a risk management program and methodology.
3+ years of practical information technology experience in software development, networking or systems management.
Demonstrated experience in planning, developing, and executing penetration testing results in a formal written document.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Advanced knowledge of Windows and Unix/Linux operating system environments.
Strong networking knowledge including firewall and IDS/IPS.
Strong understanding of software development and secure coding practices.
Familiarity with common vulnerabilities in Windows/Linux operating systems and web based applications.
Strong knowledge of a wide range of vulnerability, penetration, and ethical hacking tools (Metasploit, Backtrack, Appscan, Nmap, Nessus, etc.)
Knowledge of current technological trends and developments in the area of information security.
Ability to appropriately identify and assess user work patterns, information usage and requirements, as well as IT security constraints.
Ability to plan, implement, test, and monitor information security solutions.
PERSONAL/PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
Advanced English verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to assist in appropriate scoping penetration tests to specifications of information security management.
Must be able to provide technical guidance and leadership to professional personnel in area of expertise.
Ability to document remediation strategies including the pros and cons for the discovered risks.
Delivery of comprehensive status updates, objectives, reports, and goals to your manager.
Ability to work with and communicate and present to clients.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
TRAVEL
Must be able to travel as needed. Typically, travel does not exceed 15%.
