A medical or radiology transcriptionist is a medical language professional skilled at listening to dictation by medical professionals and transcribing at 98+% accuracy and acceptable productivity levels. Transcriptionists often perform under pressure with time constraints and require an understanding of relevant legal concepts regarding the medical transcription field.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 24 months of recent experience transcribing clinic notes, or 12 months recent experience transcribing acute care reports
- Recent editing experience, combined with the minimum transcription experience
- Excellent knowledge of medical terminology; anatomy and physiology; disease processes; signs and symptoms; medications; laboratory values; medical transcription guidelines and practices; and English usage, grammar, punctuation and style
- Has the ability to use an extensive array of professional reference materials and operate word processing and transcription equipment.
