Description:
The VPF was inaugurated in 2003 in New York City. It is a service of Stealth Communications.

Built as a distributed private Ethernet network, VPF functions as a meet-point for service providers and enterprises to exchange voice and telephony related services. The service provides an economical traffic exchange environment where members can directly connect to each other, avoiding unnecessary delays and relays.

Members of the VPF buy and sell voice origination / termination services and ASP services with complete transparency via the VPF Minutes Market and VPF ASP Market. The VPF community consists of organizations from various industries and markets with majority being service providers who have unique network assets that provide members competitive services and reach to regions and cities around the world.

In April of 2004, the VPF ENUM Registry was formally introduced to our members to route telephone calls among one another directly across the VPF without transversing the traditional public telephone network.

By the end of 2005, the Voice Peering Fabric was installed in 9 US cities and in London, and continues to expand and grow at a rapid pace. Traffic on the VPF reached an all-time-record of 18 billion minutes in 2005, up 750% from 2004. The VPF ENUM Registry holds over 11 million numbers and processes over 45 million calls annually.
