Description:
DcData was formed in 2002 by David Wilson. Having a solid background in IT, working as a computer technician for 3 years, David took his personal passion for Linux and the Internet to the business market by joining one of South Africa's premier ISPs.

After working as the technical manager for SAI for 2 years David took the step to become an independent Linux consultant and in April 2002 DcData was born.

In less than 12 months DcData grew from a fledgling business to one of Pietermartizburg's most highly respected IT companies.

In February 2003 David acquired the skills of one his younger brothers, Neil Wilson. With 5 years of IT experience in both hardware and software support and a personal passion for Linux, Neil's acquisition helped propel DcData into the position of being the leading Linux solution provider in Kwazulu Natal.

In March 2004 David acquired the skills of his other younger brother Grant Wilson. Grant brought with him some 3 years of corporate Internet sales and management experience, having also worked at SAI as a sales consultant and branch manager.

With the legalisation of VOIP, 2005 saw DcData extend its Linux expertise into the Linux based PBX market and VOIP services. April 2005 saw DcData expand once again when Matthew Erasmus joined the DcData team. Matthew has spent 2 years working in the UK for various Internet and IT companies and his international experience will be a great asset to our team. Before moving to the UK in 2002, Matt worked as a Linux specialist for Internet service provider SAI and later Internet service provider IONET.

Over the past 3 years DcData has grown their range of products and solutions from Linux based Email,Firewall and File servers to complete Linux based Voice Over IP and PBX solutions.
