Teletech Holdings, Inc., a global provider of business process outsourcing (BPO) services, said Wednesday it will open two new facilities to be located in Cavite and Iloilo, in line with its provincial expansion.
Maulik Parekh, vice-president and general manager of Teletech Philippines, said the Bacoor facility will house 1,300 seats and the Iloilo BPO center, 656.
Both facilities, which will provide a combination of voice and non-voice customer support, will be operational by end of this year.
Parekh said the company is investing "millions of dollars" in the construction of the new BPO centers but refused to give the exact cost of the development.
With the sharp growth in the demand for its services and number of its clients, Parekh said the company is constantly looking at new places, especially the provinces, for expansion.
"We want to go away from Makati, where all call centers are and bring jobs to where most of our potential employees live," said Parekh.
He said the company is also seeking opportunities to put up a call center facility in Mindanao to tap its labor market.
By end 2007, Teletech expects to operate 10,000 seats from the current 7,000 seats.
The company now has about 12,000 workers in eight facilities located in Metro Manila amd provinces of Bacolod, Dumaguete, Cebu and Batangas.
It has partnerships with global corporations operating in industries including automotive, financial services, healthcare, retail, technology and travel.
